The User Acceptance Testers role is to develop test scripts to be used during User Acceptance Testing for the Integrated Eligibility and Business Intelligence Project.  The Tester will research development in support of business cases, testing scenarios and test scripts. The UAT Tester will also participate in testing efforts through a combination of manual and automated testing activities. The UAT will report to the State of Ohio Testing Lead. The UAT will be tasked with creating use cases, test scripts and test scenarios based on feedback provided by State and County Resources. The UAT Tester will have at least 5+ years’ experience in software testing efforts, design, development, and implementation of testing standards. In addition, the Tester MUST be able to begin work the first day with little to no supervision. The Tester is also required to:

  • Adhere to existing QA processes;
  • Act as key point of contact for all QA aspects of releases, providing test services and coordinating QA resources internally and externally;
  • Create and Provide feeback on test cases, scripts, plans and procedures (manual and automated). Responsible for executing them;
  • Diagnose defects and track them from discovery to resolution;
  • Ensure all testing work is carried out in accordance with the Testing Plan, including schedule and quality requirements.
  • Provide feedback to the Systems Implementer on the implications of testing outcomes on the systems.
  • Respond to all requests from stakeholders in a timely professional manner.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead the development and establishment of test scenarios and scripts for User Acceptance Testing.
  • Facilitate meetings with State and County resources to develop test scenarios and scripts for UAT
  • Support the analysis of formal test results in order to discover and report any defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws.
  • Track and provide metrics that show quality of deliverables in a way that is consistent with testing standards.
  • Work with the Testing Lead to coordinate testing with State and County resources to ensure that new UAT test scenarios meet functional requirements, system compliance, and technical specifications.
  • Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project testing leads.
  • Assist testers, who will be working within functional application and project teams, to ensure that testers are providing the correct disposition of all test scripts.
  • Understand program, policy, practice and business operational functions within state or local government health and human services – Mandatory.
  • Experience with Health and Human Services – Mandatory.
  • Understanding of existing QA best practices and methodologies to design, implement and automate processes;
  • Experience coordinating with external QA resources;
  • Detailed and effective written communication skills for documenting the features tested and bugs found;
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, extremely responsive and able to prioritize a large number of tasks;
  • Self-motivated, works well independently and with others.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:

  • Understand program, policy, practice and business operational functions within state or local government health and human services – Mandatory.
  • Experience with Health and Human Services – Mandatory.
  • Understanding of existing QA best practices and methodologies to design, implement and automate processes;
  • Experience coordinating with external QA resources;
