This is a re-posted position from 68043 with an updated job description. The candidates interviewed were light in the experience they were looking for. They are looking for more candidates heavier in System Administration duties versus Support experience.

Requirement Description:

The Ohio Department of Aging (ODA) is looking for an experienced, skilled, and motivated System Administrator to join the team. As System Administrator contractor, she or he is responsible for the overall daily operation and improvement of ODA’s endpoint, DNS/DHCP, servers, system monitoring/management, VoIP, teleconferencing, wireless access points, infrastructure network devices and other assigned technologies. She or he will maintain and troubleshoot servers, network and endpoint devices, document existing server and network configuration, update diagram, and troubleshooting.

This position will function as a highly skilled System Administrator that include:

• Design, architect and re-engineer teleconferencing and network solution
• Lead the on-going mobility projects to ensure a smooth and consistent end user experience.
• Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues.
• Provide direct support in daily network and systems operations including the evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time, and primary support for detection and correction of operational problems.
• Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution.
• Perform windows updates, software patches, and firmware upgrades.
• Monitor the system daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns.
• Provide configuration recommendations and assistance to include troubleshooting and de-bugging support for implementation projects and initiatives.
• Work closely with internal and external users, and outside vendors to effectively plan, deploy, and maintain production environment.
• Respond to and resolve help desk requests, including server, network, and endpoint devices.
• Responsible for the endpoint device deployment
• Write and edit automation scripts to increase systems and task efficiency
• Write and maintain technical documentation
Experience:

• Excellent knowledge of server administration
• Excellent knowledge of VoIP and teleconferencing
• Excellent knowledge of wireless access points, network design and administration , and security concepts and technology
• Strong knowledge of deployment and management systems
• Ability to drive results with a sense of urgency relative to the end user
• Ability to work independently as well as with a team
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, vendors, clients and public
• Must have strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
• Experience working with cross-functional teams
Mandatory Requirements/Time:

• 4-year college degree or equivalent technical study
• 7+ years of system/server administration experience
• 7+ years of network infrastructure design and administrator experience
• 7+ years of endpoint administration experience
• 5+ years of VoIP and teleconferencing
• Professional Certification in server, and/or network, and/or endpoint or is desired
