Job Title: IT Release Manager

This position is intended to be a contract-to-hire, with a contract period of at least six months. The range pay range for this position as a full-time State employee is $42.38 - $55.55. Please relay this information to potential candidates.

ODM – IT Release Manager

In support of the IT CIO and Agency business units, the IT Release Manager is responsible for developing and leading the Release Management lifecycle across the ODM Enterprise which includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases for multiple applications.

  • Forward plan the release windows and cycles across the IT Systems Portfolio.
  • Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality.
  • Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and within budget, and that they meet or exceed expectations.
  • Coordinate work and release content and effort based on existing/pending service requests, third party applications, and systems updates.
  • Manage and coordinate work between business units, vendors and stakeholders.
  • Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements, QA plans, schedule, and scope changes.
  • Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews.
  • Lead and co-ordinate the Go-Live activities including the execution of the deployment Plans and checklists.
  • Ensure the development of Deployment, Run Books and Implementation Plans.
  • Provide Weekly Release Reporting and updates to ODM Senior Leadership.
  • Maintain the release schedule for all systems/applications and ensure alignment across vendors and key stakeholders.
  • Continually work towards making improvements in the release process.
  • Participate in Change Advisory Board meetings to discuss release scope.
  • Maintain a release repository and manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists.
  • Maintain the IT Release Calendar to ensure a centralized view of all releases.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 2-6 years of previous release and/or project management experience with accountability for end-to-end delivery (Solid understanding of project management principles preferred)
  • 8-10 years of experience in information systems operations environment in systems analysis or development
  • 2-4 years of experience in governing both waterfall as well as Agile/DevOps project lifecycles.
  • 2-4 years of experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).
  • Formal training/certification in project management practices preferred

  • General PC knowledge including Microsoft Office
  • Expert level knowledge of Excel
