This position is for March 18, 2019 – June 30, 2019 (300 hours) with a possible extension to December 27, 2019.

Database Administrator (DBA3) with expertise in SQL Server 2000/2008/2016 and related Microsoft .Net technologies.

Role Requirement Description
The ODRC would like to secure one Database Administrator consultant to assist IT in the upgrade of the SQL Server 2000/2008/Windows 2003 to minimum SQL Server 2016/Windows 2012 and newer. Currently, the SQL Server 2000 OPI Payroll database platform will be at the end-of-life on 6/30/2019 and this critical database requires modifying 137 stored procedures and converting 6 DTS packages to SSIS to contiune service uninterrupted. Additionaly, there are approximately 25 SQL Server 2008 databases that IT is tasked to upgrade for critical applications to continue working. These projects are at critical time where the services of a Database Administrator are essential. The position will assist in designing new structures for the data in Third Normal Form, assist in the creation of stored procedures for transactions, facillitate a DTS to SSIS solution for moving data to new structures and ETL procedure to manipulate data that is currently in a form that cannot be easily manuevered into the new structures.

Offered resources not showing technical or functional competence/experience will be sufficient reason to reject the Offeror’s proposal. It is the responsibility of the Offeror to pre-screen their candidates to ensure compliance.

1. Eight (8) years of verifiable total Information Technology (IT) database experience in database design of relational databases and database normalization.
2. Five (5) years of verifiable experience in SQL Server database design and optimization.
3. Four (4) years of verifiable experience in data cleansing/conversion using scripts in SQL Server.
4. Two (2) years of verifiable experience in ETL/Automation using Integration Services (SSIS).
5. Must be able to understand and enforce SQL Server standards in creation and deployment of new database objects.
6. Two (2) years verifiable experience in SQL Server Transactional Replication.
7. Three (3) years verifiable experience in SQL Server security and maintenance of security objects.
8. A demonstrable understand of object promotion strategies between databases in different development environments (Dev, Test, QA, Production)
9. Experienced in working with large databases of 300 GB or greater.
