Essential job Duties:

Install, upgrade and patch Oracle databases so that our environments remain current

Working knowledge of install and upgrade of DB2 LUW database
Automate database administration tasks using SQL, PL/SQL, packages, procedures, functions and triggers and shell scripts

Assist users with both basic SQL questions and sophisticated SQL tuning strategies

Test backup and recovery scenarios, as well as formulate disaster recovery procedures

Use Enterprise Manager and other tools for availability and performance monitoring

Analyze database resource consumption, for problem avoidance and trend forecasting

Supports application software maintenance (On-Call Rotation), including performance tuning and availability analysis, complex software upgrades and troubleshooting patching anomalies.

Works independently, with minimal supervision.

Creates and manages status reports including tracking all DBA staff activities and project status updates.

Work with security and middleware teams in support of SSO authentication requirements

Minimum requirements.

  • Highly specialized in Oracle 12c RAC Database Administration and Technical Architecture, including but not limited to database administration, ASM Storage, SCAN Listener, RMAN backup and recovery, Performance Tuning, Database Refreshes from Prod to Lower Envs, Oracle Enterprise Manager 12/13c with installation and configuration of emails and alerts.
  • Understanding of Oracle OBI applications, middleware, and systems administration.
  • Knowledge of DB2 luw database including database maintenance utilities and supporting applications with database changes, database refreshes and performance tuning.
  • Experience with the Unix environment including shell scripting.
