Job Description:
1) Background Information: BWC has purchased SmartBear’s automation tool, TestComplete, to create regression test scripts for the PowerSuite V8 project. We have BWC employees with PowerSuite experience and need experienced people trained in the TestComplete tool to help this automation effort succeed.
2) Day-In-the-Life: This person will be an independent worker, with the knowledge and skills to create an software automation framework. They will interact with various team members to gain knowledge about PowerSuite and to transfer knowledge of the SmartBear tool to the team. This person will take direction from the BWC Quality Assurance Manager. Their daily tasks will consist of building an software automation framework for PowerSuite regression testing of the key BWC business functions. This person will create the software automation framework, write test cases and test scripts using the SmartBear TestComplete tool. They will consistently document the software automation framework and test scripts to ensure all information and knowledge can be retained by BWC. They will work with BWC business testers as directed by the BWC Quality Assurance Manager.
3) Skills:
• Scripting experience with SmartBear TestComplete.
• Design, develop and implement automated testing and tooling solutions with a focus on project and application-based automated functional and regression testing.
• Enhance, extend and maintain test automation libraries and frameworks.
• Create, maintain and expand our master regression test bed.
• Define and promote test automation best practices, standards and processes.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team and developers on project and application-level test automation. Help identifying candidates for inclusion in test automation.
• Coordinate and manage automated testing efforts for concurrent projects.
• Create and maintain data sets to be used in test automation activities.
• Document, evaluate and disseminate test results; collaborate in troubleshooting issues.
• Provide test automation estimates and timelines for assigned projects.
• Participate in continuous integration, release and build management.
• Establish and manage requirement traceability through test plans and cases.
• Communicate and report on status of test automation activities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• 5+ years scripting experience with SmartBear’s TestComplete; with proven history of creating an automated testing framework with SmartBear’s TestComplete.
• 5+ years’ experience in test automation development.
• 3+ Ability to manage concurrent projects, activities and tasks under time constraints.
• 2+ Experience with Visual Studio Team Foundation Server (TFS) test management tools, Visual Studio Test Professional and/or Microsoft Test Manager.
• 2+ Experience in agile and waterfall methodologies.
• 1+ Foundational understanding of SQL and databases.
• 1+ Knowledge of QA processes, practices and systems.
• 1+ Experience with automated unit testing a plus.
• 1+ Experience with API testing and tools such as SoapUI.
• 1+ JavaScript, C#, JScript and VBScript experience is a plus.
