Requirement Description:
The candidate will be supporting The Ohio Department of Transportation’s Applications Team.
The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is requesting the services of a Programmer 4 for development support working on smart mobility and big data projects for ODOT, DriveOhio and the Smart Columbus team developing the SCOS (Smart Columbus Operating System). The selected candidate will be part of the described teams in building and implementing the computer applications that will fulfill the project missions.
This position will function as a highly skilled Senior Level PR4 with specific responsibilities that include:
• Understand the Application Team’s work plan.
• Provide status of work and deliverable estimate to Team Lead.
• Participation in requirements gathering sessions.
• Develop application designs in support of the application’s specifications and interfaces.
• Ability to present complex technical constructs to business partners
• Anticipate, identify, track and resolve issues and risks.
• Resolve issues of inaccuracy or feasibility.
• Maintain application that is composed of legacy technology.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, the ability to manage time, work under pressure of tight deadlines, and meet assigned deadlines.
Experience:
1. Ability to collaborate, negotiate and take direction form the supporting resources across business and/or functional lines.
2. Experienced in agile development methodologies.
3. Experience building an openstack cloud platform.
4. Extensive experience in writing automated build scripts for use in continuous integration and continuous deployment
5. Demonstrated proven experience in the creation docking containers that are easily maintained and deployable.
6. Demonstrated proven experience with automated deployment of infrastructure on openstack, docker and swarm.
7. Possess excellent communication skills; both oral and written skills including
strong meeting and work session skills.
8. Have excellent organizational skills, proven analytical, planning, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
9. Experience with hands-on technical design within large enterprise systems.
10. Experienced in making best practice recommendations based on industry standards.
11. Demonstrate proven experience in troubleshooting issues.
12. Candidate must possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Mandatory Requirements/Time:
4 year college degree in Computer Information Science with Networking emphasis
3 yrs. direct DevOps implementation and support experience in the following tools:
• Vault
• Ansible
• Jenkins
• Docker
• Docker Swarm
• Teraform Cloud formation
• Elk Cluster Management
• Prometheus
• Graphana
3 yrs. experience Web development using Java technologies.
