Job Role:

The Department of Administrative Services, Office of Information Technology, Project Success Center (PSC) (the Enterprise Project Management Office) is seeking a project manager to assist in the management of several IT security projects. Initially the PM will be assisting with several specific projects, but as projects wrap up the candidate will be assigned to additional projects.
Requirement Description:

The candidate will potentially be assigned to one or many of the following projects:

Project 1: Asset Management:
Working with the Office of Information and Security and Privacy (OISP) and the Information Technology Service Management teams, the project will integrate asset information from Qualys (vulnerability services) that can be used to populate the CMDB (Change Management Database) in Service Now and the vulnerability data from those assets can be can be used to better measure risk of assets and applications. Tickets based on asset vulnerabilities can also be created which will drive ownership and remediation of issues. Level of effort for this project should be low as the two products will be connected via an API’s and involved parties are internal to Office of Information Technology (OIT). The bulk of the work will be around mapping the fields to be included in the CMDB, validating ACL’s, and verifying that all deliverables have been met.
This project does not require multiple agencies coordination.

Project 2: Migration from IBM XGS to Cisco Firepower:
Working with the following Office of Information Technology Teams: Office of Information and Security and Privacy, Unified Network Security and Architecture, Server team, Storage team, Metro site (2nd site for redundancy) and perhaps the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery teams develop to execute a project to replace the current Intrusion Detection System (IBM XGS-Network Security Appliance) with Cisco Firepower.

Project 3: Deployment of Tanium Enterprise:
Deploy Tanium Enterprise to all 28 cabinet agencies, boards and commissions (About 80) and possibly some non-cabinet agencies. This will require coordination with all agencies and the Office of Information Security and Privacy. This tool will automate threat detection, analysis and remediation.

Project 4: End-Point Protection Deployment:
This project will deploy a new End-Point Protection solution to all agencies, boards and commissions (~110 entities). The project manager will need to coordinate activities between the Office of Information Security and Privacy and each agency, board or commission’s team.

Overall required experience:
The candidate needs to be a strong leader. The candidate will be responsible for overall migration planning, developing waves of migrations, communicating status of migration plans, resource planning, and meeting Program objectives. They will work with the IT Security team to establish plans and then manage the plans.

Interview:

During the interview process, the resource consultant must demonstrate competence/experience in their specific area(s) of project assignment. The resource’s experience must also be documented for review and verification.
1. Must have strong communication and collaboration skills and experience.
2. Must have excellent oral and written skills, and possess strong meeting and work session facilitation skills.
3. Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, the ability to manage time and resources to meet assigned deadlines.
4. Must have excellent organizational skills, proven analytical, planning, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
5. Must be knowledgeable in the English language/speak clearly and understandably use the English language.
Required:

1. Must have experience in managing at least one large program (collection of related projects) that was more than 1 year long, more than a year in duration and a budget great than $1 million.
2. Experience in several of the project areas listed above. (Asset Management, Migration from IBM XGS to Cisco Firepower, Deployment of Tanium Enterprise, End-Point Protection Deployment)
3. 5-8 years of experience managing medium to large sized projects.
4. Managing teams of 10-15 people from differing vertical lines of technology and/or business.
5. Experience managing several significant projects simultaneously
6. Experience following project management best practices and methodologies
7. Experience with project management applications (WorkFront preferred) and Microsoft Office suite of products.
