Job Title: Security Engineer Contractor

Estimated Length of Assignment: 6 Months *Assignment may end at any time.
Interview: One or two onsite interviews

Overview:

The Security Engineer Contractor is a hands-on role that will provide security engineering expertise and support. Responsibilities include developing technical solutions to mitigate security vulnerabilities, identifying and defining security requirements, and preparing standard operating procedures and other related documentation.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks.
  • Remediate known vulnerabilities.
  • Identify and define system security requirements.
  • Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices.
  • Monitor log files and report any security incidents and suspicions activities in real time.
  • Prepare and documents standard operating procedures and protocols.
  • Perform other security related activities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

Required

  • At least 3-5 years of proven work experience as an IT security engineer.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in building and maintaining security systems.
  • Detailed technical knowledge of database, application, and infrastructure security.
  • Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, SIEM, content filtering, etc
  • Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools.
  • Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols.
  • Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • BS degree in Computer Science or related field.

The Screening Process:

At least one onsite technical screening with FCDC Director of Security Engineering. This will include a technical assessment.
