The Franklin Department of Job and Family Services (FCDJFS) is a county, state and federally supported agency responsible for basic financial, medical and social services programs.

 

These programs are made available to ensure that no one is forced to go without the basic essentials of food, clothing, shelter, medical care and necessary life sustaining services because of a lack of resources. Duties and Responsibilities:

 

SUMMARY 

 

This role is a technical leadership role that is responsible for management and support of the network infrastructure, network documentation, and maintaining network resources. Additionally, the Network Manager is responsible for maintaining backup operations and disaster recovery support. The job performs preventative maintenance activities to ensure availability and performance of the infrastructure. This role plans and performs the installation and configuration of new servers, storage and applications required by new projects. 

 

Duties

  • Performs daily tasks to ensure Microsoft Windows environment is stable, troubleshoots end user issues for server related problems such as DHCP, DNS, File and Print Services, Hyper-V, Backups and Restores, Security Groups and GPO's
  • Manages Mobile Connectivity Solutions such as VMware Airwatch
  • Monitors server performance using tools such as What's Up Gold
  • Experience with implementing, configuring, and maintaining backup solutions
  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and executing monthly patching cycle for all Windows Servers, as well as firmware updates for all systems. 
  • Responsible for designing, documenting, and maintaining the corporate Active Directory infrastructure
  • Monitors and Maintains Hyper-V environment to ensure performance and high availability of virtual servers 
  • Provides continual enhancements to achieve operational efficiencies based on current technology trends 
    • Ensures standards , SOP's, and IT policies and procedures are followed 
    • Provides system architecture expertise as needed coordinating with internal IT staff and project 
    • Manages IT systems to reduce incidents, decrease complexity, improve documentation, improve end-user experience, and increase stability of supported systems and processes; 
    • Assists as needed with projects for operational transition and system configurations 
    • Maintains excellent communication between internal IT groups, business units and clients 
    • Maintains accurate documentation on systems, applications, processes, and hardware configurations 
    • Maintains current knowledge of technology trends; 
    • Assists on VoIP phone related issues with products such as Mitel Contact Center;
    • Designs, creates, and manages the test lab for new applications/upgrades and tests/evaluates new technologies 
    • Responds to escalations from IT Team 
    • Mentors System Administrator and Service Desk staff to promote internal development 
    • Provides availability to 24/7 on-call rotation

     

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 

    • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in computer science and four (4) years of Windows server administration experience, including Active Directory; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in business or public administration

     

    LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS 

    • Current industry certifications, Microsoft (MCP, MCSA, MCSE, etc.), and Vendor hardware certifications preferred.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES 

    • Experience in a Technical Leadership role, such as a Team Lead, is strongly preferred; Able to thrive in a fast-paced, always changing environment 
    • Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange system 
    • Extensive knowledge of Active Directory 
    • Knowledge of networking protocols and implementation and support of TCP/IP networks 
    • Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V troubleshooting and maintenance
    • Experience with scripting (Powershell, VB Script) 
    • Experience working with vendors to replace failed hardware 
    • Experience with SAN Storage Systems 
    • Experience with system Monitoring and Alerting  
    • Experience with backup solutions;
