POs @ EDU often take 3 weeks to complete. Please set the expectation (of a slightly longer on-boarding process) with candidates.

The candidate will be working with a team of developers and directly with stakeholders representing program offices across the agency. The candidate will be working on an EAS process (Enterprise Application Service) which is a .NET system, supporting multiple business processes in the Dept. of Ed. The current system doesn't have a dashboard nor reporting capabilities. This project will address those shortcomings.

The dashboard will source the data from the Microsoft Analysis Cubes and display the data using a third party charting control. The SSRS reports will source the data from same/similar MS Cubes. Dashboard development will be done by .NET developers from ODE, but reports will be developed by ODE and this candidate.

Description of Duties:
10% of Total Work Effort: Meet business users to understand and analyze their processes
15% of Total Work Effort: Analyze the data generated by the business process, define the granularity, source to target mapping of the data elements, and create Indexes and Aggregate tables for the data warehouse design and development
25% of Total Work Effort: Lead Data Modeling, System/Data Analysis, Design and Development for Data warehousing environments (the physical modelling using Erwin will be done by the database analyst from ODE). Build Logical Data models (Dimensional & Relational) using concepts like Star-Schema Modeling, Snowflake Schema Modeling, Fact and Dimension tables. Our Data Warehouse system resides on an Oracle environment
5% of Total Work Effort: Assist the ETL developer in populating the data from the transactional system to the data warehouse system. ODE uses Informatica for ETL
25% of Total Work Effort: Create CUBE using Microsoft Analysis Service -- Create dimensions, measures and measure groups. These cubes will source the data from the data warehouse system
15% of Total Work Effort: Create Microsoft SSRS

Preferred Experience:
5-7+ years' IT Experience
3-5 years' experience in:
- Star-schema modeling
- Snowflake schema modeling
- Fact and dimension tables
- Building CUBE using Microsoft Analysis Service
- Building reports using SSRS

Ideal candidate would have Microsoft SSIS/Informatica for ETL, PL/SQL and/or T-SQL, and MDX queries work experience, but these items are not required.
