Requirement Description: short description on what they will be working on, objectives, and tasks/deliverables The Department of Administrative Services, Office of Information Technology, Project Success Center (PSC) (the Enterprise Project Management Office) is seeking a project manager to assist in the management of several IT Optimization project. Initially the PM will be assisting with several specific projects, but as projects wrap up the candidate will be assigned to additional projects.

The candidate will initially be assigned two projects:

Project 1:

Management of large scale (600+ locations) enterprise service implementation. Should be familiar with state procurement and contracting and legislative restrictions. Must possess impeccable diplomacy/savvy in dealing with executive level management of diverse organizations. Strategic planning capability along with tactical schedule definition is a must. Must be proficient developing a complete and appropriate work breakdown structure for technical, communication and operational requirements.

 

Project 2:

The Project Manager will join two other PMs in managing a portfolio of IT Security project being executive by OIT. The program manager is the state PM and will assign work to the candidate PM in one or many of the following projects:

• End Point Protect (End Point, White Listing and Policy Auditor)

• Database Encryption

• Web Filtering

• Enterprise Password Vaulting

• Intrusion Protection

• Web Application Firewall

• Security Information & Event Management

• Database Activity Monitoring

• Data Loss Prevention

The candidate needs to be a strong leader. The candidate will be responsible for overall migration planning, developing waves of migrations, communicating status of migration plans, resource planning, and meeting Program objectives. They will work with the IT Security team to establish plans and then manage the plans.

PSC would like the option to extend the service after the initial engagement if there is still a demand for these services.

Mandatory Requirements/Time
  • IT Project Management as described in the PM4 job classification meeting the 7+ years of experience and college degree.
  • Must have experience in managing at least one large program (collection of related projects) that was more than 1 year long, more than a year in duration and a budget great than $1 million.
Desired experience Experience in several of the project areas listed above.

  • 5-8 years of experience managing medium to large sized projects.
  • Managing teams of 10-15 people from differing vertical lines of technology and/or business.
  • Experience managing several significant projects simultaneously
  • Experience following project management best practices and methodologies
  • Experience with project management applications (WorkFront preferred) and Microsoft Office suite of products.
