Description:
Provide z/OS V2R2, VTAM and TCP/IP support, installation and configuration based on Taxation requirements. Act as subject matter expert on upgrading from z/OS V1R13 to z/OS V2R2. The experienced mainframe systems programmer must have experience in supporting large scale mainframe infrastructure, work with team and assist in troubleshooting/solving production issues, make design recommendations, mentor junior systems programmer and document in detail all changes and recommendations.
• Install tests and maintains z/OS V2R2, VTAM and TCP/IP. Plans proper installation, configuration based on Taxation requirements.
• Establish active monitoring and performance of mainframe systems
• Apply PTFs to stay current with technology levels, including code updates on third party software products.
• Provide support to production systems, operations, DBA and application development units.
• Lead junior systems programmers.
• Participate in troubleshooting performance issues.
• Provide direction to junior systems programmer staff who will be performing maintenance tasks,
• Act as a subject matter expert upgrading from z/OS V1R13 to z/OS V2R2.
• Provide documentation on all services provided.
• Attend weekly unit meetings.
• Carry technical services pager when requested.
• Provide a detailed and current configuration changes.
• Provide directions to junior systems programmer staff when implementing changes and help them in developing technical skills.
• Able to communicate technical details clearly in both verbal and written format.
• Ability to provide support after regular working hours when requested.
Requirements:
• Must be able to troubleshoot, resolve performance issues and perform daily maintenance activities
• Ability to make recommendations, document mainframe z/OS V2R2 upgrade activities and any third party Software upgrade activities.
• performs system software installation using SMP/E and performs regression testing on new software including z/OS , PSF, DFSMS, DFHSM/RMM, Restores system access, data availability following catastrophic disasters.
• Ability to maintain and complete tasks on RACF system security
• Ability to manage and complete tasks maintaining JES2 SPOOL.
• z/OS – minimum 10 years experience

• SMP/E – minimum 10 years experience
• PSF – minimum 10 years experience
• DFSMS – minimum 5 years experience
• DFHSM/RMM – minimum 5 years experience
