Job Description:
A consultant will be required in this instance due to the expertise needed for the roles and responsibilities that will be assumed. This consultant will be working primarily on the migration of Cisco network hardware and logical networks of BWC’s demilitarized zone (DMZ) from the William Green building to the State of Ohio Computer Center (SOCC). The consultant should have experience and a familiarity with Cisco networking, DMZ routing, and F5 applications. This consultant’s other duties will include working on file transfers to other state agencies and management care organizations (MCOs). This consultant will be working on LAN-to-LAN VPN connections to other agencies and to the SOCC, and on the migration to a new VPN solution for BWC. Additional duties will include working F5 products, including the “Local Traffic Manager,” the “Application Security Manager,” and F5 firewall modules. This consultant will also be assisting in the daily troubleshooting of Cisco networking, Cisco routing, DMZ routing, file transfer issues, and VPN issues that have occurred due to the migration projects - these might take up to 25 hours per week. Employees cannot perform this work due to existing workload limitations and due to the lack of expertise in these specific applications and tools.
