This position is a contract to hire. After 6 months of successful contract completion candidate will be converted to SORTA/Metro employee. Please ensure you are discussing this with candidates as pay will differ due to benefits of full time role

This position is currently a rotating position between remote and onsite. Selected candidate will be required to work on site

IT Application Administrator

Metro is seeking an IT Application Administrator to coordinate with stakeholders in Fleet Maintenance, Transit Operations and support functions at Metro in the planning, design, development, and implementation of Transit Technology at Metro. This would include the acquisition of new solutions (software or hardware), as well as upgrades to existing applications. Drive and support the implementation of new functionality of software upgrades. Support and perform changes and upgrades to Transit IT environments including after-hours support and implementation of changes and releases of new software and hardware. Document and facilitate the work of IT as it relates to vendors in the support and implementation of technology at Metro.

JOB DUTIES

  • Support application software installed in the organization such as asset management application (Maximo), transit operations (Trapeze) and other packaged applications
  • Establish close partnerships with departments
  • Identify and document best practices and processes
  • Develop and maintain understanding of customer workflows and business needs to support each application
  • Coordinate routine cadence with vendors for road mapping upgrades and adding functionality to existing applications
  • Work with project managers and developers to create the scope, requirements and detailed designs to meet business needs
  • Document technical specifications, run books and other requirements to support each application
  • Working with Functional Leads and subject matter experts, plan and develop use-case test plans and perform unit testing as needed
  • Test programs, systems, and/or databases, correct errors and make or coordinate necessary modifications to meet optimal performance
  • Triage problems and resolve issues
  • Provide on-call support for production applications
  • Plan for and apply application software patches
  • Plan, coordinate, test and communicate changes to the application environment with application business owner, ensuring continued operations and successful changes
  • Plan and develop use-case test plans and perform unit testing as needed
  • Develop deep understanding of applications, supporting infrastructure and systems integration
  • Serve as a member of Software Implementation teams

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience translating User Requirements to functional specifications
  • Experience with Enterprise systems, ERP, EAM or preferably Transit specific solutions
  • Communications - Excellent verbal, writing and non-verbal skills. Persuasive, consensus builder
  • Customer Focus - Excellent problem-solving skills and a desire to exceed customer expectations

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems (four year college or university) or related field, OR six (6) years of experience in supporting packaged applications. Certification(s) are a plus
  • Three years related experience with a related Bachelor’s degree, six (6) years’ experience in absence of a bachelor’s degree. Transit experience strongly preferred

  • Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, internet, and email
