The State of Ohio is seeking a skilled Business Analyst through Knowledge Services with a broad breadth of technical experience. As a part of the application development team making modifications to or creating new components for application processes, the Business Analyst will participate in activities related to creation and/or modification of processes for backend database processing, .NET user interfaces, JAVA and Salesforce components. This Business Analyst will be focused on requirements, design, documentation, and development of new application API integrations for internal/external user interfaces in Salesforce and other SQL components.

The Business Analyst shall have excellent attention to detail, analytical mind and strong organization and problem-solving skills. The Business Analyst shall also be a good team player, strong interpersonal and communication skills combined with self-motivation, initiative, and the ability to think outside the box. Additionally, the role shall be able to effectively communicate relevant project analysis information to team members as well as customers and leadership.

As defined by approved requirements and design documents, deliverable include:

  • Work closely with business units, subject matter experts and technical resources to identify business needs (requirements, define/develop requirements, and work with the Project Manager to manage the development effort to completion.
  • Eliciting, analyze, validate, specify (as needed) and manage the business requirement development life cycle.
  • Develop a requirements traceability matrix for use during testing to validate testing of all approved requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between the customer community and the technical development team to track changes and clarify any issues/risks.
  • Communicate (as needed) with the Project Stakeholders, Product Owner and/or Technical Team.
  • Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.

Preferred Education / Certifications/ Experience:

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent technical study
  • IIBA Certification
  • Scrum/Agile Certification
  • 7-9 yearsof experience in Software Development Life Cycle SDLC involving Requirement Gathering, Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Implementation and Production Support.
  • 7-9 years’ experience leading requirements analysis, validation, verification, and prioritization, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable. Leverages persona-based user stories.
  • Experience with process mapping tools. Lean Sigma certification a plus.
  • Experience collecting and analyzing the project's business requirements, transferring the same knowledge to the development team, and performing quality assurance to validate that requirements have been appropriately implemented.
  • Experience researching, documenting, and validating business rules and data dictionary from existing system.
  • Experience managing requirements traceability information and tracking requirements status throughout the project.
  • Experience managing changes to requirements through effective use of change control processes and tools\
  • Experience leveraging both Agile and traditional SDLCS practices with the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment. Ability to drive the project using burn down charts and other Agile tools.
  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) with business units that rely on that information to define system requirements or organizational processes.
  • Review and/or prepare system documentation and specifications in accordance with methodology.
  • Ability to balance technology and business issues as well as communicate appropriately with both technology and business experts.
  • Experience assisting in enforcement of project deadlines, schedules, and methodologies.
