THIS IS AN URGENT POSTING

BWC’s Information Technology – Enterprise Solutions Department - is in search of

Product Specialist to support BWC’s PowerSuite application. This work is to augment existing staff with the requirements shown below.  2000 hours projected for FY21. The successful candidate will be a proven self-starter, and requires a person who is detail oriented.  Candidate must be able to work both independently and as a team member to produce on time results to meet all project deadlines. Candidates selected for interviews will be interviewed in person.

Background

Candidate must have extensive proven experience as a versatile Oracle SQL developer.  The resource will be assigned to our PowerSuite Development team working with a collaborative team of SQL and .net  developers and Business Process Analysts, contributing to the software development and support of BWC Policy, Claim, Medical Management, and Financial business processes that are housed within BWC’s Core Application.

As a senior level programmer, the candidate is expected to demonstrate they have the depth and range of required skills, knowledge and experience working with 3rd party insurance claims, policy and financial applications, large Oracle databases (> 1000 tables, > 1 terabyte). They must be good problem solvers and demonstrate excellent customer service as they will be tasked to provide ongoing production support to the operation and functionality of the Core application suite including being on call 24/7 on a rotating basis and project workload.

Required Skills

  • 9+ years of Oracle SQL development experience, including PL/SQL blocks, Stored Procedures, Data structures and access methods Oracle (Most recent experience on version 12C).
  • 7+ years of experience using and managing PowerSuite V7 or V8 or similar insurance industry software solution
  • 2+ years of experience using the Automic automation engine
  • 6+ years of experience with interfaces structures including, web services, XML documents and common flat file structures
  • Microsoft Office (2016) with an emphasis on (1) Access – DB creation, importing and analysis of data (2) Excel – importing and analysis of data employing formulas.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years experience in all of the following:
    • Developing business applications in the insurance or financial services industry.
    • Collaborating with data analysts and functional/business process analysts in the development of highly normalized data models.

Additional /Knowledge/Experience advantageous to this placement (please identify Knowledge base or duration of experience for each of the following):

  • Knowledge of the workers’ compensation insurance industry and operations.
  • Development experience in C # / .net framework 4.5 or Enterprise Java.
  • Experience with ETL including flat file formats, and XML.
