Dynamics Job Description – Senior Business Analyst - Support Specialist - Consultant

The City of Columbus, Ohio is looking for a Senior Business Systems Analyst to join the City’s Auditor’s project to migrate from Dynamics 2012 to Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations for Public Sector. The City has partnered with a Dynamics implementation/migration consulting firm to complete the project within an aggressive timeframe. The Auditor’s Office currently manages over 600 City users and over 3,000 vendors within its Dynamics 2012 environment. Approximately 11,000 invoices are processed through the system and 6,000 checks are issued each month.

The Senior Business Systems Analyst will provide functional support for the Dynamics Solution Manager, project team members and end users of AX 2012 and Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations (D365FO).

Primary Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Analysis/Testing

 Provide functional support during migration from Dynamics 2012 AX to Dynamics 365 F & O with a focus on Accounting and Operations, Budgeting and Procurement modules, as needed based upon the needs of the project.

 Collaborate with team members to document high level business processes resulting in a City Process Catalog.

 Collaborate with team members to document test scripts and test data for City processes and perform system and data validation testing tasks.

 Understand, communicate, interpret, and document business processes and requirements as needed.

 Become an expert on internal system functionality to facilitate and implement forward-thinking solutions, efficiencies and improvements.

 Research and analyze aspects of existing business practices and procedures.

 Participate in cross-functional team meetings.

 Work with project team to analyze and test customizations.

 Review D365 solution design documents and provide feedback based on stakeholder input.

 Partakes in execution of the User Acceptance test in collaboration with the project manager and gathers early user feedback on the solution from key customer stakeholders.

 Participate in the development and execution of comprehensive test plans and work closely with developers to define steps to reproduce and correct defects.

 Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

Support

 Provide support in addressing all Help Desk tickets related to Dynamics AX issues, requests, and security needs.

 Perform basic system maintenance including user access and error monitoring.

 Perform ongoing support services to Dynamics 2012 end users as needed via email/phone support and Webex.

 Understand, research, and resolve daily ad hoc operational questions for City and Vendor users.

 Provide customer care throughout project life cycle.

 Offer functional support to technical staff and contractors as needed.

 Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

Training/Documentation

 Participate in the development of training materials and training plans and then execute these training plans for 600+ City users.

 Provide end-user training and end-user support throughout the Dynamics 365FO implementation.

 Provide references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation and providing technical system support.

 Provide support and advice to non-technical users.

 Create and develop other documentation as needed.

Mandatory Qualifications:

 BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration or a related field

 Minimum of 5 years IT experience as a senior level business systems analyst.

 Minimum of 5 years’ experience developing and writing scenarios for work process flows

 Minimum of 3 years’ experience developing, coordinating and delivering training to large end user base.

 2+ years’ experience with ERP product implementation and/or support. Preferably in one or more of the following areas: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Budgeting, General Ledger, Procurement, Project Management and/or System Administration.  Microsoft Excel intermediate level preferred; experience with advanced formulas and pivot tables is a plus.

 Experience with modeling business process and translating requirements into a business application

 Ability to take initiative while working with minimal supervision and under tight timeframes to accomplish tasks.

 Ability to work as a team player and effectively meet project deliverables on time. Willing to align work with team’s priorities and goals.

 Develop and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with other team members within the department and throughout the organization.

 Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

 Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills and keen attention to detail is extremely important.

 Must be able to make presentations at meetings and train system users at all levels within the organization.

 Must be organized with the ability to multi-task and set priorities.

 Able to influence, negotiate and build consensus

Desired Qualifications:

Experience in any of the following areas will be considered as preferred and helpful qualifications in the review of your application so please highlight any experience, certifications, or training in these areas:

 Dynamics AX 2012 R3 or D365 experience.

 Experience with Public Accounting and Procurement a plus

 Knowledge and experience with user roles and Security in AX

 Familiarity or experience with custom forms in AX

 Familiarity or experience with PowerBI and AX Reports

 Experience in setup and maintenance of workflow design & configuration in Dynamics AX.

 Microsoft AX 2012 or Dynamics 365 'Finance and Operations' certifications a plus

 Experience with D365FO-related technologies including Flow and Power Apps

 Familiarity or experience with PowerBI or similar tool.
