KS Programmer  4

  • At least 2 years SAS or similar statistical reporting tool (preferred 3+ years)
  • At least 1 year Tableau (preferred 2+ years)
  • Prior experience with the SACWIS data model preferred
  • 3 years Oracle SQL or similar database experience

The candidate in this position is responsible for developing data reports by querying the relational database; working with business analysts and program subject matter experts (SME) to identify and document system software requirements and extract data from the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS).  The ideal candidate will be required to define problems and develop potential solutions and perform post production support for business applications which may include routine maintenance and enhancements.  They will also be required to perform research to aid in troubleshooting software production errors and assist in identifying alternate courses of action and participate in the review and evaluation of software development methodologies in addition to testing and implementation.  This position will be tasked with performing software implementation tasks, including source control and deployment activities.  They will assist with the development and documentation of appropriate standards and criteria for acceptable programming and systems development lifecycle activities.  The candidate in this position will concentrate on using various forms of comprehensive statistical analysis in development of analytic reporting and will develop complicated code to create federally required reports (ex: Federal Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System (AFCARS), National Youth in Transition Database (NYTD), the National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System (NCANDS) reporting, and Federal Visitation).  They will provide ad hoc data on demand and, at times, outside of the hours of normal business operation.

Excellent communication skills, verbal and written and a clear understanding of technical topics to assist other technical staff in software development will be an essential job function.  Candidate must be able to obtain or impart information from/to other technical staff and business personnel through discussion(s) involving database, infrastructure and/or application information. Leads discussion(s) or formal meetings with technical and/or non-technical personnel on simple to moderate technical topics in support of software development. Summarizes, in writing, information on 1 or more related topics involving database, infrastructure and/or application information in support of software development. Conveys, in writing, recommendations or conclusions to another for decision making purposes in support of software development. Gathers, interprets and applies information from a variety of sources to aid in software development duties, activities, events.   Candidate must be proficient in statistical analysis software.
