UX Information Architect:
The UX Architect is responsible for creating clickable prototypes or wireframes and user flows and will work closely with a team of product managers, designers, developers to create holistic customer experience solutions for responsive web design. Attention to detail, critical thinking, and a keen respect for the customer is required.
Responsibilities
- Work with a cross functional team using Agile methodology to define user stories and necessary UX deliverables as part of sprint planning with the project team you are assigned
- Advocate for the user’s needs and collaborate with the Product Managers to develop features that align to the needs of the user
- Create sketches, journey maps, storyboards, user flows, and other design artifacts to effectively communicate interaction, application design concepts and details
- Prepare UX documentation (navigational flows, clickable prototypes or wireframes, mock-ups, use cases, task flows prototypes, etc.) to be used by the development team
- Create the user experience and information architecture for digital experiences; define functionality, navigation, and interaction models through page level wireframes, site-maps, use cases, and functional requirements in an agile environment
- Create prototypes (low and high fidelity) to communicate micro interactions
- Document and communicate complex, data-driven experiences with attention to detail
- Produce design deliverables such as sketches, scenarios, wireframes, mental models and prototypes
- Lead and facilitate brainstorming and sketching sessions with product teams
- Collaborate with other UX team members and stakeholders to understand and design based on user and business needs as well as technical considerations
- Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards
- Work closely with development teams and have knowledge of HTML, JS, and/or CSS
- Plan and design responsive web applications
- Provide and receive UX feedback to/from peers
- Participate in concept testing, usability testing and analytics to understand target audiences’ needs, tasks and goals
- Collect and action UX feedback from customers/end users and manage changes to UX deliverables throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements
- 3-5 years relevant experience in user experience architecture (Information Architecture)
- Portfolio of work that demonstrates ability to create understandable, well-thought wireframes and experiences
- Demonstrated ability to document complex, data-driven designs
- Significant experience documenting user interfaces with Visio, Sketch, Lunacy, InVision. or similar tools
- Significant experience developing interface mockups and annotated wireframes
- Solid understanding of UX principles
- Experience working in an Agile environment preferred
- The ability to understand complex systems and large sets of data
- Document and communicate complex experiences with attention to detail and justify UX decisions and rationale
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of accessibility standards and considerations
- History of defining application functionality and creating interfaces in the absence of business requirements
- Solid understanding of principles of information organization and user interface design
- Prototyping skills
