Position will likely extend into FY20

Requirement Description:
The candidate will be supporting the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Office of Structural Engineering.
This position will function as a skilled PS1 with specific responsibilities that include:

Working with bridge rating models in AASHTOWare Bridge Rating (BrR) program
Importing legacy bridge rating models in the BrR program; running bridge models for all Ohio Legal Loads, analyzing error messages in the BrR; adding required information from the bridge plans and specifications; making necessary changes in the BrR data models to get desired results
Locating and searching historical bridge plans from multiple sources and media; working with the bridge plans, ODOT and AASHTO Standard and LRFD Specifications and Manuals; entering the data and information from the plans & the specifications in the BrR bridge data models;
Preparing bridge rating summary (BR100) form
Working with ODOT Structure Information Management System (SMS) to get inventory information and entering data in the SMS

Technical Skills:

Engineering background with knowledge of structural analysis, stresses, strains, & deflections produced in structural members of bridges and culverts under moving loads
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point)
Working with computers, printers, copiers

Desired Skills:
Familiarity with different types of bridges in Ohio Department of Transportation’s Bridge Inventory
Experience with reading maps
Familiarity with Google Earth Pro, Google Maps
Ability to do multitasking, work with multiple systems

Education:
4-year college degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent technical study

Years of Relevant Experience:
1 to 2 years
