Position Description:
Description of Duties (Primary & Secondary) –  The top 4 and their % of Total Time.

1. Responsible for the processing of the bi-monthly foundation payments to traditional districts, educational service centers and county boards of MR/DD including: maintaining and running the programs that create the SFPR document, creating adjustment files, running the programs that create the statement of settlement, producing the payments documentation package that is forwarded to the Center for School Finance, forwarding the payment file to OAKS and updating the supporting back-up documentation on the Center for School Finance foundation web site. 60%
2. Will be involved with coding and implementation of changes dictated by the upcoming biennium budget. 15%
3. Analyzing the current community school payment system to identify inefficiencies and re-coding the programs identified to ensure better system stability. 15%
4. Support of legacy programs as assigned by applications manager while current staff work to modernize the school foundation payment system(s) into current technologies. 10%

Experience Requirements:
1. 4+ years experience VAX/VMS COBOL.
2. 4+ years experience VMS DCL
3. 1 year additional experience with SAS preferred.
4. 2 years experience with payment calculation systems.
5. 2 year experience with numerical analysis & algebra or comparable mathematics (Accounting).
6. Applicants must have excellent written and oral communication skills. This person should be capable of performing effectively in a team, or alone and unsupervised.
7.Applicants should possess skills to gather requirements from business owners and implement those requirements into a technical solution utilizing the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
A description of the team the candidate will be working in:
Candidate will be working with a team of 3 other developers to maintain the 5 main school foundation payments systems and backup web-based worksheets that explain the calculations.
