Agency is looking for business-process minded BAs, with candidate ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Ideal candidate would have strong documentation skills (user manuals, process workflows, etc.)

The Ohio Department of Transportation Division of Information Technology is looking for a Business Analyst 3 to support The Ohio Department of Transportation’s Data Governance and the RIMS projects.
• RIMS is the modernization of our Roadway Inventory maintenance, editing and distribution of related data to system throughout the enterprise
• Data Governance will establish the rules and procedures for implementing new and existing data into an enterprise solution.
This project heavily requires documentation of current and future state.
The assignment will go through the end of fiscal, with the possibility of being extended into next fiscal.

Years of Experience: 7 plus years
Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
• Strong requirements gathering and documentation skills
• Knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence principles
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a self-starter.
• Ability to work with a dynamic team in a diverse team environment
• Ability to develop strong client and working relationships with the team
• Database design and modeling is a plus
• Experience working with government agencies is a plus
• GIS experience is a plus
• Project Management experience is a plus
• Must have strong communication skills; both written and spoken
• Must have ability to work in a team environment

Day to Day Responsibilities would include:

  • Work with business units and other stakeholders to gather information. Using techniques like interviews, work sessions, storyboarding, and prototyping.
  • Elicit, analyze, document, and communicate business requirements.
  • Analyze high-level business requirements and translate them into more detailed user stories, use cases, and other functional requirements documents such as process flows, screen mock-ups, gap analysis, etc.
  • Create documents and other artifacts to promote sustainable knowledge management within the organization.
  • Work closely with the program manager, project manager and senior business analyst.

The ideal candidate would have the technical qualifications specified below:

  • Experience conducting Facilitated Workshops for requirements analysis.
